| This new publication by Pitkin is firmly marketed at the souvenir/tourist industry as are most of the Pitkin series of publications. There is nothing here that has not been said before, or that isn't available in other places in a more detailed form. However, although light at only 32 pages this booklet is extremely well produced with many stills from the series, mini-maps of places of interest within Oxford to visit, and there is the added bonus of a music CD as well (but note that this does not include the Inspector Morse theme or necessarily classical music from the series, but just music that Morse may have appreciated). A lovely glossy guide to Oxford available in limited quantities signed by Colin Dexter himself. | |
